Last updated on Wednesday, June 10, 2015

(BEDFORD) - A Bedford teen suffered a fractured skull after he was ‘surfing’ on the hood of a car early Tuesday morning.

According to a Bedford Police report, 17-year-old Dominic Corrie of Bedford was in the Walmart parking lot and told 18-year-old Dustin Smith that he was going to jump onto the hood of Smith's 2000 Chevrolet truck. Corrie jumped on the hood of the pickup and Smith drove Corrie through the parking lot for 50 to 60 feet. During the incident, Smith made a right turn and flung Corrie from the hood causing him to land on his head in the parking lot.

Corrie was rushed to the hospital in serious condition with severe head trauma.

Smith, of Bedford, was cited for criminal recklessness.
