Last updated on Thursday, May 7, 2015

(BEDFORD) - A Bedford woman was arrested after she allegedly traded a night-vision scope for marijuana.

On May 6th at 2:18 p.m. Lawrence County detectives were at the home of 48-year-old Rhea Wilson who reported her night-scope had been stolen from her home at 1949 Tunnelton Road.

During their investigation, Wilson told police she obtained the nigh-scope by trading marijuana for it.

"Detectives inquired of Ms. Wilson if she had more marijuana in the house and she told them she did," Sheriff Mike Branham says.

Detectives asked her to bring the marijuana out to them, and Wilson brought out a purse containing a green-leafy substance which field tested positive for marijuana, a white substance which field tested positive for meth, and Norco, a prescription medication, which she did not have a valid prescription for.

Wilson was arrested, but before being taken to jail she became "out of control" and had to be further restrained to prevent her from harming herself.

Sheriff Branham added that while attempting to further restrain Wilson, she kicked one of the detectives in the leg.

Lawrence County Drug Task Force officers were called to the scene and a search warrant was obtained to search the residence, but no other drugs or drug related items were found inside.
