(MITCHELL) - Learn about life in Indiana during the Civil War at Spring Mill State Park this Memorial Day weekend.
Civil War Days runs May 23-25.
On both Saturday and Sunday, May 23 and 24, a battle will be re-enacted at 2:30 p.m. on Sycamore Field and an opportunity to learn about Indiana and the Civil War will be at 4 p.m. in the meeting house.
On Saturday, a Civil War-era fashion show will be held at 11:30 a.m. at 7 p.m., Stony Point will perform for a period dance outside Sycamore Shelter. Watch or join and learn dance steps from the 1860s.
Sunday night includes cannon fire. The Cannons at Sycamore will be fired at dark.
On Memorial Day, May 25, at 2 p.m., the park will host a pioneer memorial service at Hamer Cemetery to commemorate soldiers who died in the Civil War.
Park admission is $7 per in-state vehicle and $9 per out-of-state vehicle.
