Pud Terrell Will Face Dan Terrell In Mitchell, Girgis And Bough Win Nominations In Mayor Races

(UNDATED) - This fall, Democrat Eugene “Pud” Terrell will face off with Republican Dan Terrell in the Mitchell Mayor race.

Pud Terrell won the Democratic nomination with 199 votes, followed by incumbent Mayor Gary Pruett with 125, followed by Terry Slone who received 45 and Earnest Speer took 20 votes.

Dan Terrell secured the Republican nomination for mayor defeating Vicky Schlegel 395 to 126.

In Bedford, Incumbent Independent Mayor Shawna Girgis will face Republican Bradford K. Bough.

Bough received the Republican nomination with 411 votes defeating Sam Shaw who received 101 votes.

The Democrat party still has the option to fill the spot for a Democrat candidate.

The two Republican at-large city council seats in Bedford went to Mark Scherschel Sr. with 414 votes and Adel Bowden-Purlee taking 379 votes. Howard Scott received 275 votes.

In the Mitchell clerk-treasurer's race, Mark Bryant received 278 votes defeating Steve Burton who received 237 votes.

The Mitchell city council district 2 race was captured by Nathan Jenkins with 273 votes defeating George James III who received 234 votes.
