(BROWNTOWN) - Protesters stood outside the Jackson County Courthouse in Brownstown on Wednesday protesting what they felt was unfairly high bonds set for inmates at the Jackson County Jail.
According to one of the protesters, Mike Cox, of Freetown says in Bartholomew County, anybody arrested is held for 72 hours, which is how it should be, but In Jackson County, unfairly high bonds keep people languishing in the jail long after they should be.
The group also was advocating the legalization of cannabis but said their main reason for the protest was the unfair high bonds.
