Last updated on Wednesday, May 20, 2015

(SEYMOUR) - The car of a Seymour policeman on a way to a call Monday wound up inside the dining room of Wendy’s after the officer swerved to avoid a car that pulled in front of him.

No one was injured in the incident on East Tipton Seymour Main Street involving Officer Mathew Carver, who was running without his lights and sirens activated because it was not an emergency run, Assistant Police Chief Craig Hayes said.

"You still don't want to take too long to get there because you don't really know what you have," Hayes says.

That incident involved janitors at the Seymour Sixth Grade Center at 1000 S. Poplar St. reporting someone was attempting to block them as they were trying to leave the center. Police say the janitors thought the people might be parents angry about something that had happened to their child at the school. However the people blocking the janitors, didn't know they were janitors but thought they were suspicious subject up to no good.
