UPDATED: Missing Teen Found

Last updated on Friday, May 1, 2015

(PAOLI) - Parents and police were searching for 17-year-old Joelyn Ridenour of Paoli. She was last seen at Springs Valley High School at 3 p.m. Wednesday.

The teen was found, but the family is not saying where or how she was located.

"There is just a lot going on, and that is all we are going to say at this time," a family member said Friday morning.

Original story follows below:

Her mother, Jen Ridenour, says Joelyn went to school Wednesday morning and was there most of the day.

"She was to do an internship at a local doctor's office, which is right next to the school at 1 p.m.," Jen says. "I was there at 3:25 p.m. to pick her up but she never came out of the building and she is normally out there by 3:30. When she didn't come out I sent my husband in to see what the holdup was and he was told she never showed up."

Joelyn parents then rushed to the school to see if their daughter was there.

"She was last seen entering a classroom around 3 p.m. to pick up a math book and that was the last time anyone saw her," Jen says. "We will be back at the school this morning to see if we can learn any new information."

Joelyn is 5 feet 4 inches tall around 115 pounds. She has hazel eyes and dark short brown hair.

Her parents say she could be with her 23-year-old brother Jaron Alexander or a friend from school Bailey Crowder.

"We have not been able to contact either of them," Jen added. "Police also searched Indiana State University that is where her estranged boyfriend attends school, but they were unable to find her there."

Anyone that has information on Joelyn's whereabouts is asked to call the Indiana State police, local police or Jen Ridenour at (812) 936-6430 or her business cell phone at (812) 865-0182.
