(WHITE RIVER) - State and local officers are searching the East Fork of White river for a missing Washington woman

This is the second day for the search.

Police are looking for 55-year-old Lianne Wiscaver.

The search began around 5:15 p.m. Thursday when the Pike County Sheriff's Office received a 911 call from a concerned motorist.

"The motorist told dispatch he had seen a woman standing on the bridge," said Indiana Conservation Officer Joe Haywood. "He turned around immediately and went back to check on her and she was gone. Right now, we believe she went into the river and that is where we are concentrating our search."

Authorities found Wiscaver's vehicle still parked on the bridge and immediately began looking for her in the East Fork of the White on the Daviess-Pike County line.

The search was suspended because of darkness Thursday night, then resumed Friday morning.

Officers are searching by boat using side scanner sonar and dragging operations. Divers have also been in the water.

Police do not suspect foul pay.

According to Times Herald sources, Wiscaver grew up in the area and her brother owned property nearby.

Conservation Officers and the Pike County Sheriff's Office are conducting the recovery and investigation efforts. They are being assisted by the Daviess County Sheriff's Department, State Police, the Jefferson and Harrison Township Fire Departments, Southwest Medical and Pike County EMS.
