(MITCHELL) - A Mitchell woman was injured after she lost control of her 1997 General Motors Jimmy on Dixie Highway on Wednesday night.
According to a Lawrence County Police report, 18-year-old Abigail Hatfield was traveling north on Dixie Highway when she crossed the median and went off the west side of the road striking two mailboxes.
The vehicle then veered to the east back onto the roadway and traveled another 50 feet before going of the west side of the road striking a concrete retaining wall at Chapman Orthodontic and flipping.
Hatfield suffered hip and leg pain and she was taken by a Seals ambulance to IU Health Hospital for treatment.
Assisting at the scene were first responders from Marion Volunteer Fire Department.
