Man Arrested After Becoming Combative With Officers

Last updated on Wednesday, May 27, 2015

(BEDFORD) - A homeless man was arrested after he refused to leave a home in Collins Trailer Court and then became combative with police and jail officers.

According to Bedford Police Chief Dennis Parsley, officers were called to Collins Trailer Court Friday at 12:35 p.m. after an intoxicated man refused to leave the home.

When police arrived they found 29-year-old Jeremy Evans who told police he was homeless.

Evans, who police say was intoxicated, was asked several times by police officers to leave the home.

"He refused," Parsley says. "So he was arrested and taken to jail on a charge of public intoxication. Once at the jail, Mr. Evans became combative with both police and jail officers which landed him with the additional charge of resisting arrest by force."
