Last updated on Friday, May 22, 2015

(BEDFORD) - Two Manchester Tank employees were arrested this morning after the Lawrence County Drug Task Force and Bedford Police Department officers went to the business on X Street at the request of the company.

According to Bedford Police Chief Dennis Parsley officers arrested two men after officers found pills, marijuana and drug paraphernalia.

"We were contacted by management to do the drug sweep," Parsley says. "They are preparing a written statement on the event and it will be releasing to the media."

Arrested were:
David Stidam, 62, of Brownstown, on charges of possession of a legend drug, possession of a controlled substance, possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia and maintaining a common nuisance.

Ryan Kimbrel, 30, of Springville, on charges of possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia and maintaining a common nuisance.

Manchester officials released the following statement:

The health and safety of our team members is our top priority. When members of our team at Manchester reported seeing illegal drugs on premises, we immediately reported the information to law enforcement. This is a matter we take seriously. Workplace safety is not just our industry's concern, but a national issue. According to figures cited by the U.S. Department of Labor, more than 60% of adults know people who have gone to work under the influence of drugs or alcohol. We will continue to raise awareness among our team members about workplace substance abuse and take seriously any report from our team members about such activities. We're grateful to law enforcement for their efforts.
