Central Part Of State Under Risk Of Severe Storms This Afternoon

Last updated on Tuesday, May 26, 2015

(UNDATED) - All of central Indiana is under a risk for severe storms this afternoon and evening.

The National Weather Service says we could expect to stay mainly dry through noon with a mix of sun and clouds, but this afternoon storms are in the forecast to develop and some could be strong to severe as highs reach the upper 70s and low 80s.

Lightning and heavy rain will be possible in any thunderstorm that develops. Also residents need to watch for damaging wind as well as the possibility of isolated tornadoes.

The storm threat will end as night falls.

Warm and muggy weather will continue Wednesday with highs in the low 80s, and again in the afternoon a chance for scattered showers and storms.

At this time, Thursday looks to be mainly dry, with scattered showers and storms returning Friday, and sticking around through the end of the 7 day forecast.
