(BLOOMFIELD) - Students from Bloomfield High School have been busy producing a variety of unique artworks in their art classes this school year.

To show off their hard work, they will be holding a Spring Art Show at the Bloomfield-Eastern Greene Public Library, located at 125 South Franklin Street in Bloomfield.

The event will kick off with an opening reception Thursday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. and will continue through Monday, May 11. The exhibit will be held in the Community Room and is open during the library's regular hours. The library is open from 10 a.m. until 8 p.m. Monday through Thursday and from 10 a.m. until 5 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays.

The show will feature at least one piece of art from every Bloomfield High School student who has taken an art class during the 2014/2015 school year; However, all students grades 9 through 12 were eligible to submit their work.

According to Wyatt LeGrand, a fine arts teacher at Bloomfield High School, over 70 students will be featured at the event. Each student has created at least one independent project. The show will include drawings, paintings, ceramics, as well as sculptures.

Admission is free but donations are encouraged.

"The art club is really busy doing all sorts of fundraisers to raise money so we can have field trips and attend more art related events throughout the school year," LeGrand said.

This is the second year the school has held a spring art show for the students and LeGrand says they plan to make this an annual event.
