Worthington Water Tower Under Construction

Last updated on Thursday, April 16, 2015

(WORTHINGTON) - The foundation is being poured for a new water tower for Worthington.

The Greene County Daily World reports that the 150,000 gallon water tower is being erected on property just west of Worthington Elementary School and will serve Eastern Heights Utilities local water customers.

Southern Indiana Development Commission reported to town officials that the contractor has started on the foundation and residents will state to see construction of the tower in May.

The tower is being built thanks to a $400,000 grant, the perseverance of Eastern Heights Utilities, the Worthington Town Council and the Southern Indiana Development Commission.

Construction should be complete in September and is expected to be "online" in October.
