Last updated on Monday, April 20, 2015

(SEYMOUR) - A 56-year-old Crothersville woman died in a one-vehicle wreck reported Friday afternoon on U.S. 31 south of Seymour.

According to a Jackson County Police report, Cheri Mankiller of Crothersville was found dead in her 2008 Chevrolet Malibu after it went down an embankment into a wooded area and hit a tree on the west side of U.S. 31.

Jackson County Coroner Roger Wheeler says Mankiller suffered a heart attack, which caused her to wreck her car.

Mankiller had been driving south in the 800 block of U.S. 31 when the wreck occurred.

The cause of that wreck, reported just after 5 p.m. is still under investigation.
