(SEYMOUR) - Three people were injured during an early morning crash Tuesday between two passenger vehicles on State Road 11 north of Seymour.

According to Indiana State Police Trooper Tami Watson, around 6:40 a.m., 31-year-old Jodi Gentry of Columbus was driving a 2011 Toyota Corolla south on State Road 11 near County Road 725 North when, for reasons unknown, she drove left of the center line and into the north lane of SR 11.

The Toyota struck a 2006 Ford Escape driven by 32-year-old Mylena Roll of Seymour. Roll was traveling north on SR 11.

The 2006 Ford Escape spun around and went off the road, landing on the passenger-side in the ditch. Roll and her passenger, Casey Underwood of Seymour were trapped inside the vehicle and had to be cut out of it. The Toyota spun around and came to rest across both lanes of SR 11. Gentry was trapped inside her car as well and had to be cut out of the wreckage.

Gentry and Roll were transported to Schneck Medical Center where they were treated and released for non-life threatening injuries.

Underwood was transported to Schneck Medical Center and then flown by STAT Flight to University of Louisville hospital for serious head injury.

Trooper Watson stated that the use of seatbelts helped reduce injury to those involved in this crash.

Trooper Watson was assisted at the scene by Seymour Police, Seymour Fire, Jackson County EMS and Hampton's Recovery.
