Mitchell Community Public Library Open

(MITCHELL) - The Mitchell Community Public Library will open its doors again to patrons today at their renovated building at 804 W. Main Street.

Alexis Caudell, director of the Mitchell library, says the renovations were needed to meet contemporary needs.

April programs

The youth services department has several April programs on tap, all happening in the new renovated library. All programs are free.

Craftopia: This program is designed for all ages. Participants will be using their creativity to make various different projects from a rainbow mobile to learning how to screen print T-shirts. No registration required. Children younger than 8 are required to have a parent present. This program will take place every Tuesday 3:30-5 p.m. beginning April 7.

Birthday Storytime: Piggie and Elephant Party! This program is designed for children from birth through age 8. Do you have a birthday in the months of January-April? Then come and celebrate with at the library because this party is for you. We will craft, play, sing "Happy Birthday" and even eat cake. Registration is required. Call the library at (812) 849-2412 to reserve a spot. Children younger than 8 are required to have a parent present. The party will be 4-5 p.m. on April 10.

Donations accepted

The Friends of the Library group is now open to take donations. Call the library at (812) 849-2412 for more information on how to donate or volunteer to help the library.
