(GREENE CO.) - Indiana State Trooper Zachery Parker, who is patrolling Greene County, earned the Superintendent's Award for finishing as the "Top Recruit" in the 74th Class.

Trooper Parker was given the honor of displaying a front license plate on his newly issued patrol car, bearing the name and public employee number of Lieutenant Gary E. Dudley.

Lt. Dudley died in the line of duty on August 22nd, 2006. He had faithfully served in the ISP Training Division and at the time of his death had a hand in the training of over half of the troopers that were then serving in uniform.

"It will be an honor to display the memorial plate for Lt. Dudley on my police car. I'm proud to be the one given the opportunity to do so" Trooper Parker said upon receiving the plate.

The memorial plate will be passed on to the next Superintendent's Award winner from the 75th Recruit School Class and the tradition will be carried on from there.
