(MARTIN CO.) - An eagle rescued in Martin County is alive and well, but blind.
The injury is believed to be caused from head trauma. Rehabilitators believe his vision will return.
Another bald eagle was found shot in Dubois County on March 19. The bird died while being moved to the Indiana Raptor Center in Nashville. X-rays showed bullet fragments in the eagle, which is believed to have been a male.
Conservation officers are seeking the public's help in finding whoever shot the eagle. They can call the state Department of Natural Resources' tip line, at 1-800-TIP-IDNR.
There is a reward of up to $2,500 for information leading to a conviction for the shooting.
