(BEDFORD) - Bedford North Lawrence High School Senior Dorothy Timan will host her first art exhibit at the Wiley House Art Center from Friday April 24-May 20.
The event, "Daydreaming with Dorie Timan", will kick off with an open reception on Friday, April 25 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.
Dorothy has always loved art and started her career as a young child drawing stick figures .The show will feature her doodles and drawings from over the years.
She hopes to help young artists believe in their talents and share their work with others.
Dorothy began taking art lessons as a preschooler and then continued with private lessons with Debbie Crane at the Lawrence County Art Association. Her Bedford Middle School art teacher Cathy Bullington helped Dorothy explore anime style.
Timan plans to attend Indiana University Purdue University Indianapolis and study graphic design and animation hoping to land a job at a major company in animation design or advertising.
You can join Dorothy for "Open Drawing with Dorie" on Saturday, May 2 and Saturday, May 9 at Wiley House Children can draw with Dorie from 11 a.m. to noon and teens and adults can join Dorie from Noon till 1 p.m. on those Saturdays.
The Wiley House Art Center is open Thursday and Friday from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. and on Saturdays from 9 a.m. till 1 p.m.
