Bloomfield Working On Establishing Neighborhood Watch

Last updated on Friday, April 3, 2015

(BLOOMFIELD) - The Neighborhood Watch program is forming with the support of the Bloomfield Police Department.

Bloomfield Town Marshal Kenneth says several members of the community have reached out to try and start a Neighborhood Watch for the town of Bloomfield.

The project is still in the "forming stages." If the project becomes active, then it would supply the police department with another set of eyes watching over the area.

"The Neighborhood Watch would be supported by the police department, but it would be strictly ran by the community," he added.

He added that Neighborhood Watch members would not be allowed to carry weapons or have radios. They would simply watch out for crime and contact the police with any suspicious activity.

Anyone wishing to be a part of the community watch program should follow the Bloomfield Police Department's webpage, Facebook Page and Twitter account to keep updated on the progress.
