(BLOOMINGTON) - Everyone in the community has a role in youth drug use prevention because anyone who interacts with children has the power to influence them positively.

In response to the issue of growing drug abuse among children, the Indiana Youth Institute (IYI) is hosting a forum that will explore the indicators of drug use in a community and how to combat it. The forum will feature Jasynda Radanovich with the Indiana Prevention Resource Center. Radanovich will discuss prevention science and attendees will hear practical ways to get involved in prevention efforts.

The forum will run from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. on April 16, at The Warehouse, 1525 S. Rogers St., Bloomington, 47403. As part of IYI's Youth Worker Cafe program, the forum is free and lunch will be served, but reservations are required by noon on April 15. RSVP at www.iyi.org/YWC or by contacting IYI Statewide Outreach Manager Debbie Jones via email at djones@iyi.org.

Youth Worker Cafes are designed to bring together local youth workers to build relationships and inspire collaborations that will benefit children. This Youth Worker Cafeis made possible by the collaborative efforts of the Monroe County Asset Building Coalition and IYI.

Funding for this event is made possible in part by Mental Health America of Indiana through a grant from the Indiana Family and Social Services Administration, Division of Mental Health and Addiction. This Youth Worker Cafe also is presented in partnership with the Indiana Prevention Resource Center and Monroe County Cares.
