(BLOOMINGTON) - Bloomington Police are investigating an alleged sexual assault that was reported Thursday night.
According to Capt. Joe Qualters, officers went to IU Health Bloomington Hospital at 11:09 p.m. after a 27-year-old woman reported she was sexually assaulted by a man she knows.
The woman told police she had been at a house party, went to sleep in an empty bedroom between 3 and 5 a.m. Thursday, and awoke to the man assaulting her.
Capt. Qualters says the case has been assigned to detectives.
