Shoals School Board Will Vote Thursday To Possibly Extend Length Of School Day

Last updated on Wednesday, March 18, 2015

(SHOALS) - The Shoals Community School Board voted last week to have school in session on Monday, March 23rd during spring break to make up one missed snow day.

But on Monday afternoon, the Indiana Department of Education released a memo giving schools another option to make up missed snow days.

This option would allow schools to extend the length of their school day.

The Shoals school board will meet this Thursday at 6 pm for a special board meeting to discuss the possibility of extending their school day by thirty minutes after spring break in order to make up one or possibly two snow days.

If the school board decides for extended time, spring break will begin after-school dismisses on Friday, March 20th and run through Sunday evening, March 29th.

Parents will be notified by the school reach system on Thursday evening after the board has made a decision.
