(WASHINGTON CO.) - Indiana Conservation Officers are investigating an ATV accident that occurred on private property near Pekin Saturday.
Shortly before 5:30 p.m., officers were called to the Harrison County Hospital, where the 38-year-old Jacob White of Palmyra was being treated for stomach pain.
White told officers he was driving a Kawasaki ATV in the 9100 block of Big Springs Road two days prior when he lost control of the vehicle, that flipped and landed on White. He did not seek medical treatment at the time.
Doctors say White was suffering from a lacerated spleen and internal bleeding. He was transferred to the University of Louisville Hospital, where he is listed in stable condition.
Police say that White was not wearing a helmet or any safety equipment when the accident happened.
