(MITCHELL) - The Mitchell Plan Commission will now consider plans for the city to place limits on political signs.

The Times-Mail reports that the Mitchell City Council last month agreed limits were needed to be placed on temporary political signs and requested city attorney Byron Steele draft an ordinance that would limit signs being erected in the city limits to 30 days before both the primary and general elections. The signs would have to be taken down within seven days after the election.

However, during Monday's council meeting, the council took no action on the ordinance and agreed to let the plan commission look into the overall issue of sign placement and usage inside the city limits.
