(BEDFORD) - Lawrence County LARC is now The Arc of Lawrence County and has a new logo.
The new logo now appears on its building, signs, communication materials and more. The logo is intended to unite The Arc's affiliated chapters across the country under the banner "Achieve With Us," a call to move forward and take the road leading to progress, inclusion and respect.
The logo design reflects the energy and determination of The Arc to support and embrace people with intellectual and developmental disabilities and their families across their lifetimes and across diagnoses. This includes Down syndrome, autism, cerebral palsy and other intellectual and developmental disabilities.
The Arc of Lawrence County is a volunteer-based membership organization made up of individuals with intellectual, developmental and other disabilities, their families, friends, interested citizens, and professionals in the disability field.
"Our new brand identity updates our image and provides new energy to the mission of The Arc. The new logo is bringing the work of a strong and energetic organization front and center and is a reminder that we provide opportunity: opportunity for hope, for growth and for change," said Patrick Robbins, board president for the Arc of Lawrence County. "Our long-term affiliation with Stone Belt, the Arc of Monroe County, which operates our programs and services at our facility on Stars Boulevard, is very much valued and serves our clients in a manner that reflect this new energy."
The Arc is the nation's largest and leading organization for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities and their families. It has a 60-year history of promoting and protecting the rights of people with intellectual and developmental disabilities and providing them the opportunity to live full, satisfying and self-determined lives.
The Arc of Lawrence County has been active in the Lawrence County community beginning in the early 1970s. It is one of hundreds of Arc chapters across the country.
