French Lick Man Arrested After Crashing Vehicle

(JASPER) - Jasper police arrested a Orange County man for drunk driving after he drove a truck through a Jasper residence’s yard Sunday afternoon.

According to police reports, 42-year-old Michael R. Lagenour of French Lick was traveling southbound in a 1996 Ford F-350 when the truck went off the roadway into a yard on South Meridian Road.

Lagenour's vehicle struck a mailbox belonging to Jason and Jill Kelly and then hit a city-owned light pole before stopping.

Officers detected the odor of an alcoholic beverage on Lagenour, but he refused to submit to a field sobriety test. He was taken to Memorial Hospital for a blood draw to determine his blood alcohol content but he refused to submit to the test.

A passenger in Lagenour's vehicle, 81-year-old Eddie A. Flick of French Lick, complained of neck, back and arm and leg pain. He was transported by ambulance to Jasper Memorial Hospital.

Lagenour was arrested on a felony charge of operating a vehicle while intoxicated causing bodily injury and a felony charge of obstruction of justice and was taken to the Dubois County Jail.
