Fire Destroys Brownstown Barn, Livestock Killed

Last updated on Thursday, March 5, 2015

(BROWNSTOWN) - A fire in Brownstown Tuesday afternoon left several chickens and nine goats dead.

A bypasser knocked on Terry Meyers' door around 4 p.m. alerting him that his barn was on fire. Meyers ran to the barn but there was too much smoke and flames to save his livestock.

The Brownstown Volunteer Fire Department extinguished the fire that destroyed the 48-by 48 foot barn located on U.S. 50 about 5 miles west of Seymour.
