(BEDFORD) - Bedford Fire Department Chief Jon Wagner is looking for the public help in catching an arsonist.

Firefighters believe a fire at a vacant home at 501 14th Street on Tuesday just before 9 p.m. was set on purpose.

The fire contained to a couch was extinguished quickly.

Wagner says the home, owned by Leonard Thornton, has been vacant for about three years and there were no utilities on at the home.

Anyone with information about the fire call the Bedford Fire Department at (812) 275-4544 or (812) 275-3636.
