Last updated on Monday, March 2, 2015

(BEDFORD) - Bedford Police officer Jesse Crane and K-9 Maximus, along with 2 Vincennes Police Officers and their K-9s, are about to complete their first week of Narcotics Training, taught by Bedford Police officer and Master K-9 Trainer Mike Johnson.

So far, Max and the others have learned to detect the odors of marijuana and meth and will begin to learn the odor of cocaine.

Officials say Maximus has proven to be eager to learn and trainers are confident he will become a valuable tool in drug intervention for Bedford and Lawrence County.

Officer Crane and Maximus appreciate your support and are looking forward to giving another update next week, so please continue to follow the two's progress.
