Last updated on Monday, March 2, 2015

(BEDFORD) - One person was hurt in a two vehicle crash at John Williams Boulevard and R Street. While officers were working that accident a second wreck happened at the same location.

According to a Bedford police report, the first crash happened at 1:39 p.m.

49-year-old Mary Summerson of Bedford was traveling north in a 2003 Pontiac Aztek on R Street. Meanwhile 36-year-old Kay Perkins of Norman was driving a 2012 Kia Optima and traveling east on John Williams Boulevard when the two vehicles collided at the intersection.

A passenger in Perkin's vehicle, 58-year-old Helen Goodwin of Norman, complained of abdomen and pelvis pain.

While officers were working that crash a second happened in the adjacent lane.

According to police, 63-year-old Cheryl Mack of Bedford was traveling west on John Williams Boulevard in a 1997 Ford Escort and had stopped to make a left turn onto R Street when her vehicle was struck from behind by a 1997 Acura driven by 21-year-old Heath Wilks of Norman.

Wilks told police he did not see the vehicle stop because he was distracted by the accident in the other lane.

No one was injured in that wreck, police said.
