Air Force Airmen Graduate From Basic Training

(UNDATED) - Air Force Airman Robert W. Smith, of Springville and U.S.Air National Guard Airman First Class Mark Underwood graduated from basic training at Joint Base San Antonio-Lackland, San Antonio, Texas.

The both completed an intensive, eight-week program that included training in military discipline and studies, Air Force core values, physical fitness, and basic warfare principles and skills.

Airmen who complete basic training earn four credits toward an associate in applied science degree through the Community College of the Air Force.

Smith is the son of Tammy M. Davis, of Springville, and Robert C. Smith of Bedford and the grandson of Howard W. Phillips of Springville.

Smith is a 2012 graduate of Bedford North Lawrence High School.

Underwood is the son of Theresa and Max Underwood of Brazil, and brother of Sarah Underwood of Bloomington.

He is a 2014 graduate of Northview High School, Brazil.
