William Boling Named Youth Of The Year

(BEDFORD) - William Bohling was named Youth of the Year Tuesday night at the grand opening of the Lawrence County Boys & Girls Club Teen Center.

Bohling, the son of Rick and Michele Bohling, plans to attend Indiana State University in the fall and is considering a major in education.

Bohling has been active with the club for years.

Here are some of the activities that William has been involved in:

• Boys Club, baseball, basketball, football, and soccer


• An active member of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church


• Cadet teacher for Mrs. Webb's 1st grade at Lincoln School and Mrs. Jahn's 5th grade at Stalker School.


• Officer of the Pep Club at BNL


• Belongs to ICARE club at BNL


• Helps with Special Olympics each year


• Has been on the basketball, tennis and track teams at BNL


• A member of the BNL band for 3 years, playing the trumpet


• Worked at IGA in Bedford


• He enjoys being outdoors and loves to fish

Bohling can now compete at the state level, then regionally and then nationally.

The state event is next month and includes an overnight stay in Indianapolis where Boling will participate in fun activities with other nominees and will be honored for his accomplishments.
