Last updated on Monday, February 16, 2015

(BEDFORD) - Two Bedford men were sentenced last week after they both plead guilty to dealing meth.

32-year-old Brice Templeton of Bedford plead guilty to two felony counts of dealing meth and was sentenced by Lawrence County Superior Court I Judge Michael Robbins.

He was sentenced to six years at the Department of Correction with two years suspended and four years to be served on house arrest on each charge. The sentences are to run concurrently.

He must also complete two substance abuse programs at Centerstone and attend Alcoholics Anonymous meetings twice a week.

37-year-old Daniel Anderson of Bedford also pleaded guilty to two charges of dealing meth. He was sentenced to five years at the Department of Corrections with two years suspended and three years of house arrest for each count. The sentences will be served concurrently. Anderson testified he has been sober seven months and is attending therapy at Centerstone and Alcoholic Anonymous meetings.

Officers with the Lawrence County Drug Task Force arrested the two men in August after informants made controlled drug buys from the men.

According to a probable cause affidavit, on June 10, an informant purchased meth from Templeton in the parking lot of Pappa's restaurant on Washington Avenue. Then on June 16, a second buy was made by an informant at an apartment in Hamilton Courts.

In each buy, the informant was given marked money and a recording device and police watched and recorded the drug transactions.

In May, the Task Force received information that Daniel Anderson was selling meth.

An informant met with Anderson near the creek at Otis Park and purchased a baggie of crystal meth. Then on June 17, Anderson contacted the informant wanting to sell them more meth. The informant met Anderson at Jiffy Treat and purchased two more baggies of meth.
