Last updated on Thursday, February 19, 2015

(LINTON) - Tuesday afternoon around 4 p.m. with temperatures below freezing, Indiana State Police Commercial Vehicle Enforcement Senior Trooper Byron Goodman stopped to assist a stranded motorist on State Road 54 near County Road 1375 West in Linton.

The 2002 Saturn was out of gas. The woman driver didn't have any warm clothing and had refused multiple times for a ride into town from Trooper Goodman. The trooper did a routine check of the woman's driver's license and he found that 34-year-old Sheir Fiscus of Jasonville was wanted on a felony warrant out of Clay County for failure to return to lawful detention.

Fiscus was arrested and taken to the Clay County Jail.

Assisting at the scene was ISP Trooper Timothy Henning.
