Last updated on Tuesday, February 10, 2015

(BEDFORD) - A male teen suffered burns in a house fire at 2627 Q Street Monday afternoon.

Bedford Firefighters arrived at the home at 1:42 p.m. with flames shooting out the front of the home owned by Josh Magill.

Magill's son was home when the fire started and was able to escape and run across the street.

The teen suffered burns to his legs and was being treated by an IU Health Hospital ambulance crew.

Animal control was called to tend to two large dogs that were in the back yard and preventing firefighters from getting to the home.

Battalion Chief Steve Haverly says firefighters had a quick knockdown, but the home had fire damage to the front of the home and there was heavy smoke damage throughout

The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
