Sallee Murder Trial To Begins Monday

(BARTHOLOMEW CO.) - The murder trial of Samuel Sallee is scheduled to begin today in Bartholomew Circuit Court.

The Columbus man is accused of killing four people inside of a Waynesville home on May 11, 2013. Bartholomew County authorities say Sallee murdered 53-year-old Katheryn M. Burton, 39-year-old Thomas W. Smith, 41-year-old Aaron T. Cross and 40-year-old Shawn L. Burton inside of the home at 2634 E. Main Cross Street.

Kathy Burton also suffered multiple stab wounds during the incident.

Her son, Daniel, discovered the bodies after coming home from work.

Investigators found meth inside the home. Relatives believe the murders are the result of a drug deal.

Sallee had been spending time behind bars due to an alleged federal firearms violation.
