McBryde And Allen In Running For IndyStar Miss Basketball - Vote

Last updated on Tuesday, February 17, 2015

(UNDATED) - Notre Dame-bound Ali Patberg of Columbus North is the only girls basketball player in the state to be named a McDonald’s All-American this season, making her a top contender for the 2015 IndyStar Miss Basketball award.

But the Indianapolis Star reports that there are other standout performers in Indiana this season worthy of consideration.

Purdue recruits Lamina Cooper (Lawrence North) and Dominique McBryde (Bedford North Lawrence) are both having strong seasons, as are Butler recruit Tori Schickel (Evansville Mater Dei) and a pair of future Michigan State Spartans, Jenna Allen of Bedford North Lawrence and Victoria Gaines of Merrillville.

The actual Miss Basketball winner will be named later this spring. But fans can lobby for their favorite player by participating in the Indy Star fan poll. Vote as often as you like.

Results will be announced at a later date.

As of this morning Dominique McBryde was leading with 37.35 percent of the votes with 27,268. She is followed by Ali Patberg of Columbus North at 36.45 percent of the votes with 26,608 and coming in third is Jenna Allen with 12.50 percent of the votes with 8,872.
