Linton Woman Wins $125,000

Last updated on Tuesday, February 3, 2015

(LINTON) - A Linton woman is a true “high-roller after winning $125,000 from the Hoosier Lottery’s High Roller Scratch-off ticket.

Paula Hollingsworth purchased her winning ticket at Smokers Host at 309 A St. N.W. in Linton.

Prior to buying the winning ticket, Hollingsworth and her husband of 50 years, Dave, were headed to a casino. Their plans changed quickly after discovering the win.

Instead, the couple spent the weekend at home with the ticket hidden in a sock drawer.

Hollingsworth claimed the ticket January 26 at the Hoosier Lottery prize payment center in Indianapolis.

"I scratched the ticket and I thought there's no way I had hit the big one," said Hollingsworth. "This is great. I'll definitely spend more time with the grandkids."

The lucky player works part-time and thinks she might consider retiring.

Two top prizes worth $125,000 each are still unclaimed on the High Roller game.
