(SULLIVAN CO.) - When an Indiana State Police trooper stopped to assist a stranded motorist early Saturday in Sullivan County, a Linton man wound up getting a ride to the county jail.

44-year-old Troy Criss of Linton was arrested for operating a vehicle while intoxicated, possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of a syringe.

He was taken to the Sullivan County Jail after being transported to Sullivan County Community Hospital for a blood test.

ISP Trooper Brent Robinson stopped to help Criss at 4:42 a.m. Saturday on US 41 near County Road 200 North in Sullivan County.

Trooper Robinson says Criss appeared to be intoxicated, and tested positive for opiates and benzodiazepines.
