ISP & Lawrence Co. Police Warn Of Slick Roads

(LAWRENCE CO.) - The Lawrence County Sheriff’s Department is warning motorists to be extra careful traveling to and from work this morning.

Wet roadways have frozen overnight causing the surface conditions to be extremely hazardous.

Sheriff Mike Branham says local and state road crews have done a very good job in treating the main thoroughfares however many of the rural county roads and side streets are extremely slick.

Motorists should adjust their speeds to meet the surface conditions and allow for greater stopping distances.

Indiana State Police report Ind. 37 south of Bloomington is extremely slick

Also College Avenue and Bryants Creek northbound and southbound lanes are slick and there are several crashes and slide offs in those areas.
