Dubois Man In Critical Condition Following Crash

Last updated on Monday, February 2, 2015

(DUBOIS CO.) - Police say the use of a seatbelt could have reduced the injuries sustained by a Dubois man in a Saturday night.

Trooper Kurtis Blunk reports that around 11 p.m. 35-year-old Kyle S. Burger of Dubois was traveling north on County Road 1025 East in his 2003 Mini Cooper and was approaching the intersection of County Road 1025 East at State Road 164, when Burger failed to stop and crossed through the "T" intersection. Burger lost control of his vehicle and was ejected as it flipped numerous times.

Burger was transported to Memorial Hospital in Jasper and was later taken to Deaconess Hospital in Evansville after suffering cuts to his head and contusions to his body.

Burger was not using his seatbelt at the time of the crash.

The accident remains under investigation by the State Police.

Assisting ISP troopers at the scene were: the Dubois County Sheriff's Department, Memorial Hospital EMS, and the Celestine Fire Department.
