(BEDFORD) - In an effort to guide programming offered to Lawrence County citizens, Purdue Extension is conducting a county-wide community needs assessment through February 28.

The Purdue University Cooperative Extension Service provides local needs-based programming in the area of agriculture and natural resources, health, human sciences, community development and 4-H youth development by partnering with area agencies, businesses, school and volunteer groups to make a larger impact in the community.

Purdue Extension-Lawrence County would like input from both youth and adults from all backgrounds through a five minute survey. Interested citizens can also come to the Purdue Extension-Lawrence County officer to take advantage of tablets specifically linked to the survey on the Internet. In Addition, paper-based versions of the survey are available at the Purdue Extension office and at various other locations around the county, with a convenient drop-box in which to place completed surveys.

The Cooperative Extension Service is one of the nation's largest providers of scientific research-based information and education. It is a network of colleges, universities and the U.S. Department of Agriculture, serving communities and counties across the United States.

Purdue Extension is a service tailored to meet the local needs of Indiana, with educators, specialists and volunteers who live and work in all 92 Indiana counties who provide the link between Land Grant university research and Indiana citizens. In this way, Purdue Extension provides practical solutions to local issues. The information and expertise is available in the form people want, when they want it. Purdue Extension needs your input to ensure that local needs are being met.
