(BEDFORD) - The Bedford Board of Works and Safety opened bids on Tuesday for the 16th Street water main replacement project.
The Times Mail reports that the bids for $1,551,735 from Layne Heavy Civil Inc. in Orleans and $2,233,345 from Infrastructure Systems in Orleans were taken under advisement.
The board approved an easement and demolition of a building along the right-of-way for the upgrade of the Spider Creek sewer line. The line will be increased from a 12-inch line to a 24-inch line will be moved to the north side of the creek.
The city will pay Darrin McCullough, who owns the property and building, $14,740 for the temporary easements. He has agreed to tear down the building for $35,260.
