(BLOOMINGTON) - Bloomington Police used stop sticks to end a pursuit Saturday morning.

West Second Street near Patterson Drive was closed for a brief time while police attempted to apprehend a man fleeing from officers.

Officers stop 22-year-old Matthew Sinn, after they caught him speeding at the intersection of South Walnut Street and Miller Drive. But Sinn drove off after he was pulled over.

Other officers joined the pursuit and deployed stop sticks east of Patterson Drive on Second Street.

Sinn saw the stop sticks and tried to turn around, but officers were able to block his vehicle.

Sinn was arrested on charges of driving while his driver's license was suspended, resisting law enforcement.

Sinn told police that he fled because he thought he was in trouble for threatening to kill his fiancee and because he was upset over his relationship with his fiancee.

Sinn is also facing charges of stalking, intimidation and invasion of privacy after police learned Sinn's former fiancee called reporting that Sinn had threatened to kill her and had violated a protective order.
