4-Way Stop Sign To Be Placed At Buck Run And Borters Roads In Greene Co.

Last updated on Thursday, February 19, 2015

(BLOOMFIELD) - The Greene County Commissioners approved the installation of a four-way stop at the intersection of Buck Run Road and Borters Road during their regular monthly meeting Tuesday morning.

Rick Curl of the Greene County Daily World reports that installation will be done as soon as crews are able to erect the posts needed for the 4-way stop signs.

The decision to erect the signs came following a serious accident that sent two Greene County residents to the hospital last month.

The only stumbling block besides frozen ground hampering the installation of signs will be the lack of a "Stop Ahead" sign. It is the only sign the county didn't have in its inventory at the present time. But the commissioners voted to go ahead with the placement of the stop signs and the other sign will be placed when it arrives.

The commissioners also gave Highway Superintendent Roger Hamilton permission to determine weight limits on county roads. The commissioners agreed that it should be left up to Hamilton's discretion to determine which roads and what the limits will be as well as the duration of the weight limits.

Hamilton will complete a list of road weight limits for the commissioners to officially approve prior to their next meeting.
