Williams Man Arrested Over Dog Dispute

Last updated on Monday, January 5, 2015

(WILLIAMS) - A Williams man was arrested after a dispute regarding his dogs.

50-year-old Donald Brown was arrested on charges of harassment, intimidation and obstructing a public roadway Wednesday morning. He was also cited for having a dog at large.

He was released after posting a $505 bond.

According to Sheriff Mike Branham, officers were called to the home after a resident reported that Brown's truck was blocking their driveway, preventing the homeowner from going to work.

Branham says Brown and his neighbor have been involved in an ongoing dispute over dogs.

Brown has also posted signs on his property and painted a message on the neighbor's driveway about the dogs.

The Lawrence County animal control officer has been called to the property on numerous occasions about Brown's dogs being on the neighbor's property and attacking their dogs. They have even shot Brown's dogs with BBs to get them to leave the property.

"Mr. Brown's neighbor's have had to pay extensive vet bills because of the attacks," Branham says.

Fearing for the safety of their pets, the neighbors shot and killed one of Brown's dogs last week, which infuriated Brown.
