Washington Man Arrested For Hunting Without Consent Of Landowner

Last updated on Monday, January 5, 2015

(WASHINGTON) - Indiana Conservation Officers arrested a Washington man Thursday night after they found him hunting on property without the owner’s consent.

40-year-old Dustin M. Troutman of Washington was arrested and booked into the Daviess County Security Center on charges of hunting without consent and criminal trespassing, both Class C misdemeanors.

On Wednesday, the Daviess County Sheriff's Department was called to a complaint in southern Daviess County about a complaint of a hunter on the caller's property hunting without permission. Officers gathered information and passed it on to Indiana Conservation officers, who then requested a warrant for the arrest of Troutman.

Indiana Conservation Officers would like to remind all hunters that it is their responsibility to obtain permission from property owners before hunting.
