Two Arrested On Drug Charges

Last updated on Thursday, January 15, 2015

(BEDFORD) - Bedford police arrested two people Wednesday after they received a tip of possible drug activity in a room at the Rosemount Motel.

According to Bedford Police Chief Dennis Parsley, when officers arrived they knocked on the room door and 24-year-old Remedios Olvera of Bedford answered the door.

Once the door was open, an officer smelled the strong odor of burnt marijuana.

The officer requested permission to search the room, which Olvera gave.

Officers and a K-9 found marijuana, marijuana smoking devices and another smoking device with a thick residue on it that tested positive for meth.

Olvera and 35-year-old Crissy Jones of Mitchell were arrested on charges of possession of meth, marijuana and drug paraphernalia and maintaining a common nuisance.

There was a dog in the room. Animal control was called and the dog was taken to the White River Humane Society.
